TIMESAUSTRALIA, JAKARTA – Indonesia has been officially appointed as the FIFA U-20 World Cup 2021 on the FIFA Council Meeting in Shanghai China on October 24th 2019.

The tournament will be played between June and July 2021 and the final list of venues will be decided by FIFA and the Chinese FA.

"Praise the Lord, Indonesia has been officially selected to be the host of FIFA U-20 World Cup 2021," the official Twitter account of PSSI (Indonesian Football Association) wrote.

On the occasion, FIFA Council has also decided several appointments for the hosts of future FIFA competitions:

  • Indonesia as the host of the FIFA U-20 World Cup 2021™
  • Peru as the host of the FIFA U-17 World Cup 2021™
  • Russia as the host of the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup 2021™

FIFA U-20 World Cup 2021 will be the first world cup ever held in Indonesia. The tournament will be followed by 24 countries of 6 conferederation around the world. (*)
