100 Students Were Granted Scholarship from Bank Indonesia
TIMESAUSTRALIA, JAKARTA – Jember Representative Office of Bank Indonesia gave scholarship to 100 students from Jember University and Jember State Islamic Institute.
The Head of Jember Representative Office of Bank Indonesia Achmad Buyamin claimed that the 100 students consisted of 50 students from Jember University and 50 students from Jember State Islamic Institute.
“Each of the students will be granted one million rupiahs per month for a year,” Buyamin explained after attending the cooperation of scholarship awarding to students of the two higher education institutions at the Hall of Jember Representative Office of Bank Indonesia, Friday, (9/3/2018).
Buyamin explained that the scholarship was expected to help out the awardees’ education.
“We expect that their study can be finished smoothly without thinking the other expenses,” he described.
It was not only to give scholarship, Buyamin claimed that they will also equip the students with some knowledge on leadership and entrepreneurship.
“They will be a part of our program; they are GenBi or Generasi Baru Indonesia (Indonesian New Generation). They will be trained with entrepreneurship and leadership skills so that they will become independent after finishing their study,” he added.
Meanwhile, the rector of Jember University Moh. Hasan stated that GenBi program was very important for the students.
“This is not an ordinary scholarship giving. It is because the students will be trained to develop themselves through GenBi,” he said.
Similar statement was delivered by the Vice Rector of Student and Public Relation Affairs of Jember State Islamic Institution Sukarno. He added that the scholarship means a lot to their students who were generally from family with low economy level. (*)
